Wellbeing grows with wood

Scientific studies confirm that wood has a positive benefit. Aesthetic, psychological, and health. Increases work productivity by up to eight percent. It lowers heart rate and blood pressure. It helps to sleep peacefully and affects physical activity, creative thinking, and stress management. It strengthens the formation of cells of the immune system and prevents the multiplication of viruses or bacteria. It arouses satisfaction in a person and calms them down.

Wooden is sustainable

Building benefits is also key. Wood is a unique sustainable material with a significantly lower carbon footprint. If 80 percent of new residential construction in Europe were made of wood, it would absorb up to 55 million tons of carbon dioxide per year. In other words, half of what the concrete industry produces at the same time.

Wood smells of the future

Wood has its place in the construction industry not only historically as a safe material, but in recent years also as an innovative way in harmony with nature and modern values. In neighboring Bavaria, wooden buildings make up more than a quarter of housing construction. In countries like Denmark, we reach over half the share, and in Scotland already in 2019, fully 92 percent of new construction had a wooden structure. Outside of Europe, wood has a similarly strong position, for example in the USA.

CLT panel technology highlights the advantages of wood

We will use CLT boards made of cross-laminated timber for the supporting structure of the building and as a visible material in the interior. As a building material, they are subject to European technical assessment and have a precisely declared quality standard. Their advantage is high structural strength. Laminated wood in this way provides better thermal insulation, and also contributes to a better climate in the room. This makes the environment healthier for asthmatics and allergy sufferers and allows them to perceive their home better.

Wood can easily last for hundreds of years

A robust construction made of solid wood has the same life expectancy as a building made of bricks or concrete. It will not degrade in the dry environment that we prepare for it. Theoretically, the lifespan of a wooden building is unlimited. Such a Wang church has been standing since 1175 and even survived the move from Norway to Poland. After all, even our oldest sacred wooden building, the Church of the Virgin Mary in Broumov, was built in 1450.

The wood also surprises with its high fire resistance

Dřevák fulfills all the requirements given by the fire safety solution of the building. A wooden building designed in this way does not pose a greater risk from a fire safety point of view than a brick or concrete building.

A healthier and more comfortable environment

The wood is thoroughly insulated against harmful effect of water and at the same time, it is designed so that the wood can breathe and water vapor does not condense. Because CLT panels are dried to 12% moisture, they do not have suitable conditions for the growth of mold, wood-decaying fungi, or insects. To ensure the long-term durability of the wooden building and a healthy indoor environment for its inhabitants, this building is supplemented with a system of sensors that monitor key parameters during the operation of the building.
